When I received the first issue of the International Journal of Metalcasting yesterday it absolutely made my day. I have shown it to a number of people saying isn’t it great that our industry can and does put out this world class research magazine. It gives a lift to all of us on the foundry front lines.  It took me about two minutes to get the subscription card back to AFS.

Its launch, coming soon after the birth of the WFO's own research journal is indicative of the growing realization of the truly global nature of the castings industry and of interest in its ongoing development as led by R&D in academia and industry.
